Infrastructure & Systems
Physical and virtual servers, endpoints, networks, wireless, printers, cameras, A/V systems, security systems, PBX and IP telephony, and cloud-hosted platforms.
Portland, Oregon
I have spent my life working with systems that have to function in the real world: computers, networks, servers, stages, sound systems, lights, camps, archives, tools, and people.
My technology background includes rural IT consulting, ISP services, web hosting, systems administration, virtualization, Microsoft environments, cloud platforms, telephony, A/V systems, and technical operations. My production background includes theater, rock and roll, circus arts, live sound, lighting, projection, and touring show support.
The common thread is simple: understand the situation, respect the people, make the system work.
Core strengths
My work has crossed small business IT, enterprise support, web services, live production, and practical operations. I am comfortable with imperfect environments, limited resources, and systems that need to work for real people right now.
Physical and virtual servers, endpoints, networks, wireless, printers, cameras, A/V systems, security systems, PBX and IP telephony, and cloud-hosted platforms.
Troubleshooting, documentation, user support, vendor coordination, process improvement, and keeping systems moving when things get messy.
Drupal, PHP, WordPress, Joomla, HTML, CSS, web hosting, email systems, DNS, and practical CMS/content work.
Live sound, stage lighting, projection, touring theater systems, and show environments where failure is not abstract: the show has to happen.
Selected experience
Built and supported practical technology systems for rural businesses, sole proprietors, farms, and small organizations that needed reliable IT without full-time internal staff.
Created and operated an ISP and early internet services provider offering dial-up, DSL, web hosting, email, and related services to around 100 customers.
Helped run the full operational cycle of a sleepaway children's camp, including registration, seasonal setup and teardown, systems improvement, scholarships, fundraising, events, and logistics.
Worked across large-company IT environments, including server, endpoint, Microsoft, virtualization, cloud, support, and infrastructure contexts.
Production / A/V
My production background comes from real stages, touring shows, children’s performances, rock and roll, circus arts, aerial work, and theater. I have operated front of house and monitor mixes, sourced and configured PA systems, tuned rooms with reference microphones, worked with full rack systems, and handled the details that make live sound actually work.
Lighting work has included designing, sourcing, programming, and operating stage lighting systems, from analog dimmers to DMX, PAR cans, gobos, motorized programmable specials, and spotlights. I understand the system from power source to fixture.
In plain terms: give me a theater and I can run it. Give me a pile of equipment and I can make the show happen.
Personal thread
I am of Native American and settler ancestry and was raised in Lakota traditions, ceremony, and community. My father spoke the language, carried responsibilities in the traditional way, and was known as a storyteller, actor, and activist. I grew up around sweat lodges, sundance camps, powwows, drums, and Native gatherings.
That upbringing shaped how I understand responsibility, relationship, story, and work. It also shapes how I think about technology, media, archives, teaching, and the difference between collecting information and taking care of context.
Maker / builder
Outside of formal work, I am usually building, tuning, driving, camping, fishing, or figuring out some machine that needs attention. I am currently working on a slow-roll van restoration and overlanding build. I also love sports cars and technical driving for the same reason I loved flying: there is discipline to it, a feel for the machine, and a direct connection between attention, control, and consequence.
